My ROG STRIX does have two BIOS's, so I can mess one up, without any trouble at all, but it still sounds really scary haha. 3080 (sorry) but currently happily chugs along at 1830mhz@806mv all day every day. Both settings compete against the stock values of the Gigabyte Gaming OC with the newest driver. The Nvidia 3000 series cards tend to have high memory temperatures, so it is important to take care of proper cooling. Posted in Networking, By Lock the voltage and frequency with the key : L. So I kept 1755mhz 0.8v with 1050mhz x2 overclocked memory to 21.6ghz . 2000MHz on 0.7mV is insane man. But after seeing Optimum Tech being able to hit 1800MHz with 806mV and 1850MHz with 850mV, I'm wondering if anyone else is able to hit those undervolts aswell? We previously reviewed the company's SSD, the Neo Forza eSports NFP075 and today we will take a look at its high performance Faye DDR4-4600 2x16GB dual channel kit RAM. I have a Strix 3090 and it is just running on +100 on core and thus clocking in game aroud 2100Mhz Because if you have in afterburner 1800mhz on 0,875v you can be boosting in game to 1830mhz in RTX game like Metro exodus, which make a lot of difference to perspective of undervolt result just curios to be sure mine 1755mhz on 0,8v is actually clocks shown in games, but in MSI afterburner I think I hve 1725 or 1740 adjusted but it`s doing 1755 in all tests and games , soo yeah, True, sometimes my clockspeed hits 1815MHz for a short while, You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Also my 3090 is on water and is around 30c at 0.7v, if you are on air is not going to hit it. In QHD and load scenarios that generate less load, were usually more like this at 250 watts on average. Anyhow great cards for hot box PC CASES I recommend 0.8v really even with lost mhz no prob. Latest driver as for all settings. Tags Overclocking RTX 3080 RTX 3090 Undervolting, Introduction The prices for computer memory have dropped significantly over the last few months for . Best PR score I can achieve without tweaking the OS and stuff is 13680, 2010MHz @906mV. Under the test, with my previous undervolt setting, that used 100% (stock) on the powerslider, my GPU clock dropped from the 1815MHz to 1750-ish MHz, because maximum power was hit (the 100%). I rolled up the sleeves and got down to tweaking, it seems pretty stable at 1800MHz with 800mV. Now that you have the F/V Curve Editor. Tweaking the curve a bit brings it to 82-83C at a slower fan curve that I find comparable noise wise to the TUF's stock one. For this purpose I overclocked the gigabyte in performance mode by +100Mhz offset on the core and +650Mhz on the memory and this with simultaneous lowering of the power limit by 10%, which results in ~ 333 watts at the gaming OC. It seems your FTW3 holds a higher clockspeed out of the box and with less power usage than my ROG STRIX Unfortunately my GPU just isn't stable at 800mV near the 1800MHz core clocks, especially not when RT cores are used at the same time. Can anyone please help. Thought I'd head back to this thread and mention this awesome test/benchmark. Thank you, message was successfully sent. Memory chips on the RTX 3080 and 3090 are not sufficiently cooled. This test was carried out with stock settings i.e no undervolt etc - You can see a few things: Thing is, constantly hitting that hotspot high can slowly damage your card. My 3090 can't do that, and it's a shame, because Optimum Tech reports his 3090 draws 71 watt less at 1800MHz using 806mV and that'spretty good. The BFGPUs The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti and 3090 are powered by AmpereNVIDIA's 2nd gen RTX architecture. I wonder why people like to talk crap GPU-Z is a lightweight utility designed to give you all information about your video card and GPU. Lets see if it works and we can beat the stock card! When you open up MSI Afterburner strike CTRL+F in order to open the Frequency/Voltage Curve Editor displayed in the window on the right in the image above. Posted in New Builds and Planning, By Does MSI gaming trio has better memory cooling? I came to the term of undervolting, checked some videos, but it still seems too scary to start doing it, since i may fk something up - but as far as i read you can save up to 100w usage. 3DMark: I used the stresstest feature to test my settings, Bright Memory: Infinite Ray Tracing Benchmark from Steam: this was also used to test the stability of my settings. Hard pressed to hit 60c and 270w draw. I'd be willing to sacrifice some hash speed for silence, if possible. Going back all the way to the 780, I remember finding the highest stable core and the highest stable memory and the highest fps i got was by backing down each maybe a third of they way back to "in da box' settings. LTT bilibili channel hits a million subs. Remember to save these settings in MSI Afterburner. This results in the GPU thermal throttling after a couple of minutes of mining. I'd like to compare with my results. But wauw. The watts will still go up to 350. The bloody afterburner voltage adjustment was a bit of a pain, it has a mind if its own. Im a little confused why you would buy a 3090 and then not use the extra performance over the 3080? I am going to try changing my MSI 3090 voltage to .75mV and see where that leads me. I noticed the extra power connector on the strix version and decided to get that instead. I linked the full results in the original post if anyone is interested. Otherwise, the default setting will run the card in around 120 watts. Press J to jump to the feed. Interesting that you say it doesnt affect performance by as little as 2-4 FPS. When it arrives i will be particularly interested to find out how it performs next to the TUF version. The GPU core temperature might still be very low, but the memory chips (with separate different sensors) are overheating. Started 55 minutes ago I saw many people to change rtx 3090s 4x but gained silicon lottery on same volts 30-45mhz yeah notgood. But 1800MHz@875mV is stable. or 100%. Games crashes after a couple of minutes. Monitors turn off while gaming, GPU-Fans get loud, PC keeps running. But still, 1791 wasn't even stable on ~820mV. I would describe my cooling as relatively good. Posted in General Discussion, By Nice undervolt you have. Oh and also;the maximum VRAM temp I've seen from HWiNFO is 96c, so I guess your FTW3 cools the VRAM a tad better? So my settings was 1815MHz @850mV, with 137% powerlimit. Edit: Only got a 98.7% framerate stability. JavaScript is disabled. But I went ahead and tested my undervolt, 1800MHz with 800MV, on Heaven (I'll probably have to move the voltage up a notch or two still for full stability) with different fan speeds: - Way too loud for me (on a Meshify C just besides my monitor), - Acceptable loud, but I'd rather have it quieter, - Just loud enough to be barely perceptible over my case fans. I've tested undervolting extensively on my 3090fe using the afterburner custom curve method (look on YouTube, a few good guides around). Do you have the same issue of the internal temperature cap? happy to compare results too. I'd love if these FE cards could do 450W, I feel like 14k PR would very much be on the table for good dies. It only updates when there is an update, not immediately. have you also observed that undervolting forces the card to draw more Amps instead and therefore even exceeding the set power limit (e.g: in afterburner the max limit was set to 123% but undervolting like 1030mV at 2050mhz made it reach 135% multiple times during an only 2 minute benchmark (the bright memory infinite one). Make sure to use mining client that support 100% unlock. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. All of these are practical tests in a closed case with pleasant but appropriate regulation of the case fans in an insulated case. Control/Odyssey (booth some hours) and 6hrs timespy stable. From what Ive read you can set the voltage around 800 900 mV for the RTC 3080 and 750 800 mV for the RTX 3090. I just started doing this also ichill 3090x3 gets so bloody loud temps hit 74c and that's with fps locked @ 85fps @ 3440x1440 i dropped it -200 and set it 1755mhz and it very quiet temps 56-64c and get same fps. But the temperature is just comparable with my TUF OC (up to 75C), consuming around the same amount of power as the TUF (up to 320W), but much noisier at stock fan speeds. I would like to achieve lower temperatures so I don't have to put up with this loud noise until I install the custom loop. RebuffedBee9595 February 13, 2022, 11:15am #8. Sorry that it seems like I want to try and find the "Whyit isn't true". Posted in Troubleshooting, By I rolled up the sleeves and got down to tweaking, it seems pretty stable at 1800MHz with 800mV. The reason my card does better undervolted than stock (I get 12700 or so stock I think) is that lower voltage means less power meaning it can do more with the 400W it is allowed to play with. I've found this awesome - and free - Ray Tracing benchmark, made by MARvizer. My 3070 will not go under 706mv with any load applied. The picture in the title achieved stats in row two below, just below the stock row. I'm kinda blown away Started 19 minutes ago I thought I knew what was normal. It's easy! You're damn lucky IMO. It seems that the power hungry design does make it run hotter. With these I'm getting 122 MH/s at 314 W using excavator. Usually you just increase the clockspeed, sometimes with an extra increase in voltage and presto! So I increased it to the 137% in Afterburner and that kept GPU clock on 1815MHz but total board power increased from 334 watts to 380-ish watts. 2nd hand market can be a crapshoot sometimes. And yes, I think that when full on ray tracing is in effect the card will still draw what it 'needs' in terms of wattage, up to a certain point. Interestingly you can see the temperatures of my two NVME drives, one of them which is sitting below the GPU is at 38C however the other which is right above the hot GPU backplate is sitting at 50C.? Playing Metro Exodus, Control or Cyberpunk with RTX on shows up any instability pretty quickly for me. But the temperature is just comparable with my TUF OC (up to 75C), consuming around the same amount of power as the TUF (up to 320W), but much noisier at stock fan speeds. The average voltage was around 960 mV. The elmor evc2 is what I use to control the onboard voltage controllerdirectly. I didn't think this was possible. Then I adjust the voltage curve / undervolt until Heaven freezes or crashes. Well, there is. Other mags like HardwareLuxx and Computerbase have already tested this. basically, anything over 0.83 volts will not save you any power and heat in games that use full raytracing. I choose first to set the voltage to 825 mV. Started 48 minutes ago I seem to be stable but not wanting to run into problems when ray tracing is introduced. I dont want fans at 100% and memory junction temperature 104 or lower is a must. I like how Optimums 3090 is a FE version like yours. So I just settled in with 850mV and 1815MHz. If i go lower like 1850 for 0.8 will I lose a lot of performances? Any 3090 users here who undervolts care to share their undervolting results?
